My guess is no. But does my hypothetical reaction12 HCl + 2 KNO3 :rarrow:2 KCl + 6 H2O + 5 Cl2 + N2Ever actually take place. I know that hypochlorites and permanganate can oxidize hcl

As a chemical engineering student also. if you wish to explore natural analysis, you can choose any of the two,The basic differences are just that chemists works majorly on small quantities of material that is they perform majorly analysis and properties of a substance and view the way they can proceed in a reaction but as a chemical engineer you face basical usage of the design and the modelling of the results obtained from the analysis of the chemist. Also you can also continue in any of the field for your second degree or further without dependence on which ever one you choose on your first degree.

After reading through this thread and seeing the many opinions on Carey and Sundberg, I have a question: dryness/writing style aside, is Carey and Sundberg a good and comprehensive adv. organic text? Are there any specific gaps in its coverage? Essentially, if I work through part A and B cover-to-cover, will I have learned the equivalent of a typical undergraduate "Advanced Org. Chem" class?I have Carey and Sundberg right now, and don't want to buy another book (poor college student!) I don't have room in my schedule for Advanced Organic at the moment, but I really want to learn the material and understand more of the literature! So any information would be appreciated.

This is true with many minerals. I spent a lot of time in a supplement store and found many people that were going to take supplemental potassium and iron when they really didn't need to.For example:It is true that if you actually have an iron deficiency you will feel sluggish. But I had many women who did not have real long term iron deficiency trying to treat supplemental iron as a energy supplement. - Yes I know that bleeding depletes the body of iron but taking a good muti-vitaman will do fine. And if you want more potassium in your system eat a banana - it is very easy to over take potassium.
